WARP – Waste and Recycling Practices for Dual Transition in Vocational Education
Education:
The Waste and Recycling Practices for Dual Transition in Vocational Education and Training (WARP) project is an initiative designed to improve vocational training in the Western Balkans. It focuses on equipping VET trainers with essential digital and environmental skills to manage plastic waste sustainably and innovate in recycling practices. The project is driven by a consortium of nine partners from four countries: Albania, Kosovo, Greece, and Spain.
Description:
The WARP project envisions a systematic, holistic, and innovative advancement in the landscape of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the target countries, with an impact on society as a whole. Its objective is to foster awareness and innovation in sustainable waste management and recycling practices and methodologies by enhancing the capacity of VET providers. This involves training trainers and relevant social, governmental, and professional stakeholders in the implementation of effective solutions to the urgent environmental challenge of plastic pollution. The WARP methodology’s capacity-building activities combine virtual learning environments, open educational resources to support new Train-the-Trainer programs, and modular designs for flexible learning. Emphasis is placed on mentoring, twinning for international collaboration, and hands-on Train-the-Trainer workshops.
Goals:
Systematically collect and analyze existing policies, practices, and initiatives related to sustainable waste management and recycling in Albania and Kosovo.
Improve existing programs in participating VET institutions and equip trainers and professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to innovate and implement effective waste management and recycling practices.
Strengthening the relationship between the vocational training sector and the labor market in Albania and Kosovo.
Promote the dissemination and sustainability of successful waste management practices through the design and implementation of a comprehensive transferability strategy, with the participation of civil society.
